Last thing I'd recommend is to try to avoid purchasing any hardware with Genesys stuff in it. If you need help, post back and I can see what I can suggest. You can install a newer version of the kernel from a ppa. Tbh, I don't know whether this is a kernel or udev issue, but I suspect the kernel is involved. The other thing that might be worth trying is a later kernel. Boot up the live USB, choose "try Ubuntu" to get to the live desktop and see how the device works with your setup. ![]() Download the Natty ISO and create a bootable live USB. But since this device is (mostly) working in Natty/11.04 for others, it might be worth trying Natty on your machine to see if that helps. I don't know of any workarounds other than those posted in the thread I linked to. ![]() ![]() You did have a CD or DVD in the drive when you ran the udisks command? And I very much doubt this will ever get fixed in Maverick.įirst thing - silly question, but it has to be asked. This is one of those issues that affects only a tiny minority of users but which is mightily inconvenient if it does affect you. Are there any other workarounds that you might suggest? This is getting pretty annoying, I am beginning to wish I had stayed with 10.04!I sympathise.
